FACOLTÀ MEDICINA VETERINARIA - UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO
School Architecture
(2,500 students) – Lodi, 2016

The works concern the completion of the Polo Universitario di Lodi with the construction of buildings for teaching and departmental activities of the Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria of the Università degli Studi di Milano: administrative spaces, classrooms and teaching laboratories, offices and experimental laboratories, and additional structures for teaching and practical activities at the Centro Zootecnico Didattico Sperimentale (Experimental Zootechnical Teaching Centre) and the Ospedale Veterinario (Veterinary Hospital).
Particular attention has been paid to the introduction of elements of sustainability in terms of functionality, comfort and maintainability, as well as to the introduction of principles of flexibility of the teaching and research spaces in order to facilitate the versatility of the environments. Energy-saving solutions have been adopted through the use of renewable and low-consumption sources.
A “Sustainable Campus” model, similar to what has already been experimented in other international contexts and more recently launched in the Città Studi area in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, perfectly integrated in the context and in line with the latest findings about sustainability in terms of environmental inclusion, materials, energy saving and renewable sources.

27,000 sqm housing training, service and research activities of the Facoltà di Veterinaria of Lodi. It is an environmentally friendly building that uses natural elements as construction materials, recalling the surrounding landscape.
