The new Cremona Hospital is based on the concept of a “healing environment,” moving away from the traditional monolithic block in favor of a radial structure integrated within a large urban park. Its concentric ring layout allows for a clear separation of flows (medical, visitors, logistics), ensuring efficiency, flexibility, and comfort for both patients and staff. The widespread presence of green courtyards, therapeutic gardens, and natural surroundings contributes to overall physical and mental well-being.
The project integrates hospital functions with public, commercial, recreational, and educational spaces, featuring a permeable ground floor that is open to the community. Great attention is given to sustainability, through the use of renewable technologies (photovoltaic panels, geothermal energy), eco-friendly materials, and biophilic design strategies.
The hospital is designed to evolve over time: modular, prefabricated, adaptable to emergency scenarios, and equipped with smart technologies, it represents a new paradigm in healthcare architecture.
