The 4th Annual Meeting of the JRP Healthcare Infrastructures platform of the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, coordinated by Stefano Capolongo and the Design & Health Lab research group, has come to a close.
The event, hosted by Politecnico di Milano, brought together around 200 representatives from institutions, universities, hospitals, and industry partners to share the results of the 2025 research activities and discuss the renewal of Italy’s healthcare building stock.
The discussion highlighted the scale of the transformation currently taking place in the healthcare sector: today, more than 40 new hospitals are either being designed or built across Italy, with a total investment value exceeding €10 billion.
This historic transition requires new expertise, stronger integration between healthcare planning and infrastructure development, as well as innovative tools capable of supporting the design of increasingly complex, sustainable, and people-oriented facilities.
During the meeting, the JRP 2025 Annual Report was presented, a document gathering data, scenarios, and significant case studies related to the evolution of healthcare architecture in Italy.
Tecnicaer is featured within the report through several projects and contributions, confirming the path the company is pursuing in the design of complex and innovative healthcare infrastructures. An approach focused on integrated design, sustainability, technology, and the quality of spaces for both patients and healthcare professionals.
The event was attended by Stefano Carera, Technical Director of Tecnicaer.
