The Project aims to enhance the structure by transforming it into a modern passenger transportation hub, while simultaneously increasing the attractiveness of internal commercial services through the reorganization of spaces and the renewal of some intended uses.
The expansion of existing volumes, the redevelopment of the public space in front conceived as a new square, and the comprehensive internal restructuring aim to define a new “Urban Polarity”: no longer just a bus station, but a green building with NZEB characteristics where the new Mobility Hub will coexist with commercial, tertiary, exhibition, recreational, and leisure activities.
The new facade is conceived as a contemporary and active skin that will protect the building from the outside, creating a renewed and attractive backdrop towards the new square.
