The criteria used for the design choices, considering that it was an executive design project for the updating of a project already in progress, aimed at maintaining the design provisions already made, both regarding the construction works and the plant engineering works, subject to compliance with any intervening regulatory and/or normative provisions, where applicable.
In particular, the proposed design envisaged the adoption of a prefabricated structural system with precast concrete partitions and slabs, new enclosures, and insulation of cold slabs with rigid polyurethane foam, replacement of the solar thermal collection system and increase in surface area, replacement of the system for producing thermal fluid vectors with groundwater heat pumps, and a cogeneration plant consisting of a containerized unit (201 kWe – 255 kWt).
