BIM - Building Information Modeling

All design activities, from the initial stages of architectural concept study to construction site management, are conducted in a BIM environment. Concurrently, various disciplinary models (ARC/STR/MEP) are developed typically in REVIT, adhering to detail levels defined by UNI 11337 Part 4 standards and consistent with the expected design level. The activity doesn’t stop at 3D design alone but also manages everything related to the project: geographic location, geometry, material properties, and technical elements, construction phases, maintenance interventions, demolition operations, and decommissioning of a built structure. In other words, it encompasses the entire lifecycle of a facility, extending to the management of the seventh dimension (asset management) The developed models thus become extensive databases, through which it is possible to access any information: the model is a virtual object that depicts, through various simulations, what the building will be once constructed, with the ability to verify technical and performance characteristics during the design phase. Computerized containers capable of storing everything there is to know about a project, product specifications used, logistics, construction sequencing, costs related to building, and management and maintenance of the structure.

Even the internal verification activities of the project, both in terms of regulatory compliance (code checking) and the correctness of the technical solutions identified, are carried out using BIM-oriented methodology. This involves analyzing models exported in IFC format through specific software for Model Checking The verification reports, produced by the Project Information Manager, are transmitted to the discipline-specific BIM Coordinators, thus optimizing the phase for addressing any issues.
